First known as The Convict Establishment, Fremantle Prison is one of most interesting tourist attractions in the Perth region.

Here you can walk around the original prison facilities that were first opened in 1855.

There are a bunch of attractions, including: guided tours, a visitors’ centre with searchable convict database, an art gallery, prison café, and a gift shop. There are educational activities held for school kids, along with exhibitions and re-enactments of historical events.

The Fremantle Prison Exhibit is a part of the Perth Metropolitan district’s World Heritage list.
